Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-16
1. What this service is
App Pain API provides programmatic access to public app-store data (reviews, metadata, version information, search) and machine-generated pain-point analyses derived from that data. It is an independent service, not affiliated with Apple or Google, and not an official offering of either store.
2. Your access
Access is via API keys issued by the service. Keep your key secret — you are responsible for calls made with it. Keys can be revoked for violation of these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.
3. Fair use
- Rate limits (currently 60 requests/minute per key) and free-tier quotas apply and are enforced.
- Server-side caching is part of the design: identical requests are cheap, cold requests hit upstream stores. Do not script loops that intentionally defeat caching or hammer upstreams.
- Do not resell raw upstream data as a competing firehose, and do not misrepresent the service as an official Apple/Google product.
4. AI-generated analyses — important
Pain-point outputs are produced by a large language model summarizing public reviews. They may be incomplete, biased, or wrong. Quoted evidence is verbatim from public reviews and may contain errors or offensive language from third parties. Analyses are a research signal, not fact, and not legal, financial, or professional advice. Verify against the raw review data before acting.
5. Availability
The service is provided best-effort with no uptime SLA. Upstream stores rate-limit in windows; features, limits, and models may change; daily budget safeguards may pause analyses. We may discontinue the service — announced when practical.
6. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or revoke keys for abuse, non-compliance, or to protect upstream access. Paid tiers (when active) may be canceled per their billing terms.
7. Warranty and liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (for free-tier use: zero).
8. Changes to terms
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
